About This Place

Nestled quietly away from the hustle of Camarillo’s main streets, Hidden Cafe is a true culinary treasure for those who appreciate classic American flavors crafted with care. This warm, inviting diner effortlessly blends the charm of a traditional eatery with the comfort of a neighborhood cafe, delivering hearty portions and familiar tastes that soothe the soul.

The menu at Hidden Cafe reads like a love letter to American breakfast and lunch favorites, with standout dishes that promise to satisfy both nostalgic cravings and adventurous palates. Imagine sinking your fork into a luscious Cinnamon Roll, its sweet, cinnamon-swirled dough melting softly on the tongue, or savoring the rich, savory layers of the Loco Moco Deluxe—a heavenly plate topped with gravy and eggs that epitomizes comfort food. The Chicken Fried Steak and Chicken Fried Chicken are crispy on the outside and tender within, bursting with that perfect blend of seasoning and soul-warming goodness.

For those seeking gluten-free options, the Belgian Waffles are a revelation—crispy and golden with a delicate texture that pairs beautifully with fresh fruit or a drizzle of maple syrup. And the breakfast classics, from Bacon and Eggs to the Chili Verde Omelette, provide an extensive selection sure to please every appetite. The Rib Eye and Fried Rice offers a delightful twist, cleverly combining hearty steak with savory fried rice, creating a satisfying fusion that keeps diners coming back for more.

The atmosphere at Hidden Cafe mirrors the food’s homely spirit: friendly, unpretentious, and welcoming. Guests often remark on the attentive service and warm smiles, fostering a relaxed environment that invites lingering over breakfast or lunch. The outdoor seating area is a particularly enchanting spot—the lush plants and ambient heaters lend a cozy, almost secret garden feel, perfect for a slow morning or a casual midday meal.

Many first-timers speak to the uniquely “hidden” nature of the cafe, nestled discreetly within a shopping center yet easily worth discovering. As one patron humorously advised, be prepared for a bit of a scavenger hunt to find this gem, but rest assured that the journey is rewarded with exceptional food and generous portions. Georgina Curry’s birthday breakfast experience highlights the quality of their fried chicken—never frozen, always juicy, and addictive enough to satisfy even the most particular cravings. Another diner, Tanya Stammer, praised the gluten-free pancakes for their delicious flavor and noted the staff’s attentiveness and prompt service, underscoring the cafe’s commitment to accommodating diverse dietary needs and creating a memorable visit.

Hidden Cafe is more than just a place to eat—it’s a comforting retreat where classic American cuisine is served with authenticity and warmth. Whether you’re a local seeking a newfound favorite breakfast spot, as Andy Bratz describes, or a visitor charmed by the unassuming allure of this “little gem,” your taste buds and your heart will thank you.

From rich cappuccinos to the zestfully fresh guava and mango mimosas, every element of Hidden Cafe invites you to relax, savor, and rediscover the joy of straightforward, heartfelt cooking—hidden right in plain sight.

It was my sons birthday, and he was craving fried chicken for breakfast. I googled best fried chicken, and this place popped up. It didn't disappoint. They use fresh, not frozen chicken. It was really juicy. My son was very pleased with it. I ordered the pork chops and was happy with mine as well. My hubby ordered the chicken and waffles, and he couldn't finish it. Proportions are huge. I think we found our new breakfast spot. We have to come back for lunch or dinner. They also have an islander flare to the menu serving moco loco, fried rice, and Hawaiian macaroni. A must try if you are in the area. Let's make this place a not so hidden cafe

Gluten free pancakes were delicious along with everything else that we ordered! The staff and owner are pleasant and very attentive. Our food arrived, hot and quickly after ordering. We sat outside in an area beautifully decorated with plants, heaters and shade. We so happen to hit the perfect timing during the week when there wasn’t as many people. We hear that over the weekend it can get quite busy. However, the food and the atmosphere is worth the wait!

Talk about truth in advertising! Hidden Cafe lives up to its name in the most delightful way. Tucked away in the shopping centre, it's so well concealed you might think they're playing an elaborate game of hide-and-seek with their customers. Pro tip: bring a treasure map or a keen sense of smell to locate this gem! Once you've conquered the challenge of finding it (no small feat, I assure you), you're in for a treat. The cafe offers both indoor and outdoor seating, catering to all preferences. Bonus points for being dog-friendly in their outdoor area - because who doesn't want to enjoy a fantastic breakfast with their furry friend? Speaking of breakfast, it's absolutely top-notch. The food here isn't just good; it's the kind of meal that makes you question all your previous breakfast experiences. And the best part? You barely have time to anticipate it. The service is so quick, you might suspect they have time-bending abilities or a secret army of ninja chefs. In all seriousness, Hidden Cafe is a standout spot. From its playful location to its excellent food and lightning-fast service, it's a place that turns first-time visitors into regulars. Just remember to leave a trail of breadcrumbs so you can find your way back!

This was my first visit and I'm happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised! I can understand the name, "Hidden Cafe". Our car GPS was even off by one street; I think this was the fault of poor phone reception on my part. This little gem of a restaurant was well worth the visit. The food was fantastic, with many choices to try on future visits. I'm my opinion the food was priced just right, no prices seemed out of line. The servers were very attentive and the refills on drinks and extra napkins were quick to arrive at our table. There is inside seating and patio seating. Space heaters too for chilly days. It's easy off and on the 101 freeway at the Camarillo Springs exit. I ordered chili Verde omelet with flour tortillas and O'brian (sp?) potatoes. Fresh salsa on request. So tasty

I just left the hidden cafe for the first time abs I have to say I have very impressed with the food, service, and atmosphere. The location is perfect. It is hidden away in a corner of a small shopping center. It is very clean and cozy. The food was delicious and affordable. The menu had plenty of options and was diverse. The service was great. Emma is a fantastic server. They also do military discount. This place has become one of my favorite breakfast spots in Ventura county.
